Fabulous scarecrows have been completed while I was away on holiday! The farmer and his wife (seen below) are the brainchild of Kathleen from our "crafty" group. They are excellent and Sarah, our gardener, tells me they are keeping the birds away too!
Here we are after completing our scarecrows to deter any birds from getting to our crops. Kathleen and I had great fun with our charity shop bargains making up our scarecrows on wooden frames. We intend to also add some more bird scarers which we are making from scraps of foil to make dragonflies and some silver leaves which will attached to a branch and will hopefully flutter & shine in the breeze and sunshine to scare away those birds that are always around.
