Sarah, our head gardener, is working with Impact Housing and their young people to develop a food growing area in their courtyard. This is part of the outreach work connected to our Local Food project. They have already taken some pots containing Spinach and Swedish Chard and today Josh took a trough with Strawberry plants
It is inspiring to see ideas growing for the new garden Josh is working on. I know we grow some unusual and international crops (Simon and Rufino were discussing growing pineapples and bananas today!) - but it’s Swiss Chard! Perhaps we could develop some Swedish chard - we could always grow some in a self assembly container during this weekend’s workshop!
