Beekeeping practice for three of us at the Apiary in Gleaston this morning -very hot work! Paddy did very well despite getting stung and it was fascinating to see a number of different hives and improve our knowledge about what to look for. We spotted the queens and checked all the frames to see how successfully they were collecting food, that the queens were laying and whether they were likely to swarm...lots more to learn!
